🦷 This Week’s Dental Insight: Understanding Gingivitis Therapy

Have you been told you need Gingivitis Therapy? You’re not alone—and we’re here to help you understand why it’s essential for your smile.

What is Gingivitis Therapy?
This specialized cleaning removes hard and soft buildup from your teeth and just below the gums. It’s recommended if you haven’t had a cleaning in a while and have moderate tartar buildup—but no deep gum pockets over 4mm.

What Are “Pockets”?
Healthy gums fit snugly against your teeth, with a natural space of 0–3mm. When bacteria cause your gums to pull away, deeper spaces—or pockets—form. These are harder to clean and can lead to gum disease and even tooth loss.

What to Expect During Your Visit
✨ No anesthesia required
✨ Performed by our licensed dental hygienist
✨ Uses an ultrasonic cleaner and hand tools—gentle, efficient, and effective
✨ Appointment takes about 45–60 minutes
✨ Resume normal activities, eating, and drinking immediately

Follow-Up Care
You’ll return in 4–6 weeks for a check-in and polish. If healing looks great and your home care is on point, you may transition to routine cleanings again.

Insurance Tip
Gingivitis Therapy isn’t always covered 100%—even though it helps prevent more serious (and expensive) dental issues later. We prioritize what’s best for your health, not just what insurance happens to cover.

Memorial Day Closure
We’ll be closed Monday, May 26th to honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. Normal hours resume Tuesday.
